DESCRIPTION:The energy of the American continent has been a great impulse and inspiration that has been nurturing my creative worlds. In the four years I enjoyed New York City\, from 2008 to 2012\, and subsequent visits to this region\, I’ve created much of my pieces with expanded notation\, that I’ve named as rare scores. I admired and learned the music of Pauline Oliveros\, Phill Niblock\, Meredith Monk\, Joan La Barbara\, Harry Partch or Sarah Small\, as well as the objects and proposals from the Fluxus collective or the writers Yarisa Colón or Perdita Finn as an inexhaustible collection of open doors to freedom. DESCRIPTION:The Rafel Festival of Rafelbunyol (Valencia) presents the creations that composers Nuria Núñez Hierro\, Miguel Ángel Bervis\, Vicente Roncero\, José Javier Peña and myself\, have been commissioned by the José Iturbi Conservatory of Valencia. \nThis project is coordinated by the cello teacher Elena Solanes\, and consists on commissions of new pieces for the elementary and middle music studies. A wonderful initiative\, in which this is the third book we’ve published. You can find it in this link of the publishing house Piles. \nCovers are made by María Aranguren and Clara Hevia\, and this book\, called L’Encanteri de Valentí\, is made up of pieces for violin. \nMy piece\, in particular\, is a graphic score called Madera\, metal y crin (Wood\, Metal and Mane).

I have been doing it since 2003\, at the Strade del Cinema festival (Italian Alps)\, for more than 20 years now\, and I have often done it at the International Institute of Madrid\, working on pieces from the United States. \n….In this case\, the Vice-rectorate for Equality\, Inclusion and Social Responsibility together with the Film and Audiovisual Department of the University of Alicante\, under the coordination of Israel Gil\, created a LGTBIQ+ Film Festival to celebrate Pride this coming July. In it\, I will play three nights: Thursday 4\, Tuesday 16 and Tuesday 23. \n….All sessions will be at 7:30 close to the sea\, so what could be better to do after beach other than coming to the cinema? \n\n….On Thursday\, July 4\, we’ll watch Different from the Rest\, a German gem from 1919 that happens to be the first gay-themed film in the history of cinema. DESCRIPTION:On May 11\, Coro Nur (light\, in Arabic)\, founded by great conductor José Manuel López Blanco\, sings in public for the first time my piece Alzo aquí\, dedicated to José Manuel to accompany him in his transit of leaving the body. Lyrics are created by Mayan shaman Gustavo Pineda\, from El Salvador\, and are an invocation to natural forces. \nIt’s very emotional for me that his contemporary music chorus\, his big project\, sings this special piece.
