Concert/talk of Sonia Megías’ whole production for piano

The Baluarte del Duque Auditorium, part of Santa Pola Sea Museum, hosts a great concert by Rosa Torres-Pardo. The pianist makes a tribute to Alicia de Larrocha with it.
Included in the program is my SoLnatina, a youth piece that the pianist has had in her repertoire for years.
Along with my work, others by Menndelsohn, Mompou or Soler.
After the concert, we will have a conversation with Rosa, organized by the Museum together with the Association of Students of the Superior Conservatory of Alicante.
The National Auditorium of Music has programmed pianist Rosa Torres-pardo in this tribute to Alicia de Larrocha.
The program includes my piece SoLnatina, written in 2001. The piece has been played many times by Rosa’s hands around the world.

….One of my favorite things to do in life is improvising with the piano on silent movies. Use them as a video-score for my creations. I have been doing it since 2003, at the Strade del Cinema festival (Italian Alps), for more than 20 years now, and I have often done it at the International Institute of Madrid, working on pieces from the United States.
….In this case, the Vice-rectorate for Equality, Inclusion and Social Responsibility together with the Film and Audiovisual Department of the University of Alicante, under the coordination of Israel Gil, created a LGTBIQ+ Film Festival to celebrate Pride this coming July. In it, I will play three nights: Thursday 4, Tuesday 16 and Tuesday 23.
….All sessions will be at 7:30 close to the sea, so what could be better to do after beach other than coming to the cinema?
….On Thursday, July 4, we’ll watch Different from the Rest, a German gem from 1919 that happens to be the first gay-themed film in the history of cinema. It has thought-provoking content that still feels modern today.c

Inside the Festival of LGTBIQ+ Cinema organized by the University of Alicante, next Tuesday July 23rd I’ll improvise at the piano with a series of short films from the beginnings of the 20th Century with gay thematics.
This will be the 3rd and last session in the festival with my piano improvisations! The previous two went amazing!
It will be free and in the center of the city!

Piece Not Today, originally created by Dúa da Pel for pianist Rosa Torres-Pardo and singer Clara Muñiz, and included in our CD Madera de pájaro, will be performed by Valentín Miralles and Mari Francis Sáez at the Museum of Archaeology of Cehegín (Murcia).
One of my favorite musical activities is improvising at the piano with silent movies. In this occasion, I’ll have the chance of playing with three short films by the great Mélies.
The duet of flute and piano conformed by Tatiana Franco and Manuel Fernández Ortiz wil play my Tres tangos next December 15th in León (Spain).
