Springtime in New York
Dear friends, I hope you’re blossoming like this beautiful spring in Central Park.
I have so much to update you!
The CoroDelantal project is turning into 15, and in January I came to the city where it all began to hold weekly rehearsals and give concerts this coming May. Stay tuned!
To whet your appetite, here’s a little prank we pulled last fall with the CoroDelantal Madrid:
As the Artist-in-Residence at the Espacio de Culturas, New York University, I invented ‘Art for the Living’, a series of interviews to women artists based in NYC.
My next guest is opera singer Anna Tonna, great friend and fantastic mezzo-soprano.
The blind people’s chorus of New York, that belongs to the FMDG Music School, along with some members of CoroDelantal NY, will premiere at the Met my tactile piece “Family Cord”.
The piece has been commissioned by the FMDG Music school with the support of the Consulate of Spain in New York. It’s made of satin ribbon with linen embroideries, clay shapes and tree branches.
From a screen you’ll see this art piece projected.
It’s the first time for this school to work on a tactile piece different than Braille!

The cultural initiative Salon on Kingston (Brooklyn) hosts every Tuesday amusing sessions I Do Sing in Spanish with Sonia Megías, an open mic with no mic but with grand piano. There’s songbooks for everyone!
Bring your friends and enjoy a therapeutic evening singing in group or as a soloist!
