The energy of the American continent has been a great impulse and inspiration that has been nurturing my creative worlds. In the four years I enjoyed New York City, from 2008 to 2012, and subsequent visits to this region, I’ve created much of my pieces with expanded notation, that I’ve named as rare scores. I admired and learned the music of Pauline Oliveros, Phill Niblock, Meredith Monk, Joan La Barbara, Harry Partch or Sarah Small, as well as the objects and proposals from the Fluxus collective or the writers Yarisa Colón or Perdita Finn as an inexhaustible collection of open doors to freedom. Without these kindred beings, maybe I would do something similar to what I do, but I would feel helpless.
