Description
Chelo en el mar is a boat trip along Costa da Morte (Galicia, Spain) through different cello techniques that are identified with elements of the trip: the glissando with the waves, the strong high-pitched sounds with the seagulls, the harmonics with the stars, the pizzicato with the broken boat that sinks, the bow as an oar or the col legno with the floating wood. The synchronization between bow, breath, voice and left hand, and metrical elements such as hemiolias or dosillos, etc. are also worked on in a graphic and programmatic work that intentionally lacks staves, meter, melody and harmony.
