Program notes

NARRATOR:
It’s said someone robbed at the red castle.
There’s three brothers who’ve been wrongly accused.
Their sister Joana follows them from behind.

SISTER:
“Sing, my brothers, so you’ll be acquitted.”

BROTHERS:
“Tell me, sister, what song to sing?”.

SISTER:
“The shepherd cries, he didn’t escaped.”

NARRATOR:
The queen eats, then she stops eating.

QUEEN:
“Tell me, page, who sings on the sea?”
“The sound they give makes the airs bounce.”

PAGE:
“They are the three brothers, the three badly accused.”

QUEEN:
“Tell them, page, tell them to arrive.
One will be page, and the other knight
and the youngest, I will keep for me.”
