Description
Procesión is a piece from my youth (2001). I wrote it in base of a text by Federico García Lorca, and the original version was for mezzo-soprano and piano. I wrote the piano part before the voice, which floats above it in the melancholic introduction.
The most frequently performed version of this piece was made for cello, snare drum and piano, because I included it in the theater music for La Malquerida, by Jacinto Benavente, with which the company Tablas Teatro (from Almansa, my village) toured several theaters in Castilla-La Mancha.
This version is dedicated to Leo Maciá, great dulzainera and brave radio woman. In gratitude for the many talks in front and out from the microphones.
